Ying-er 2006

We adopted our daughter Charlotte Xiao from China in 2006. ("ying-er" means baby in mandarin). This blog tells our story about building a family of 4, and the on-going joys/trials in our lives.

Surviving Pre-Moving Hell

It is almost upon us - the big move. Everyone is getting tense and tired of looking at boxes already.
AJ is really excited about her new house, especially the pool and painting her new princess room. However, every day she has a little cry about leaving her school and her friends.
: (

Poor Charlotte has no idea what is going on, but is pissy because she is getting 2 new teeth. Although.....she did let me put a pony tail in her hair for just one day....

Steve and I are stressed because we had an unexpected change of our closing date to April 13. That is 18 days earlier than expected, in case anyone is counting. More details on that later when I am not so angry and I can talk about it without gagging. I am very grumpy lately.

Did I tell you that we found a new house though? We did. And we love it. And by June 1 this will all be worthwhile.

We have taken virtually no photos in the last couple weeks, but here are a few cute ones of the girls in their matching robes.

Oh yeah - and this is what we do when we are bored and have to get out. We go to the carwash and pay the extra $$ for coloured soap. (photos taken by AJ) What can I say? The girls get a real kick out of it, the car gets clean, and it only costs me $8. Mother of the Year Award, here I come.
