Happy Chinese New Year
Here are the photos from all three of the celebrations we attended.
The first one was the Children's Bridge Party.
AJ's Mandarin School Concert/Celebration/Potluck
What the heck is the photo of plate of food? Check out the cupcake. Just more proof that I rock as a Mom. Steve and I were quite worried about the potluck lunch at AJ's school celebration. I mean hey, our Chinese cooking skills are not exactly stellar. So....we talked to some of the parents at the school and they said, don't worry, we always need desserts. AJ and were all set to make our signature chocolate cupcakes and draw pigs on every one....when lo and behold....we came upon the pig sprinkles in the baking aisle. Can you believe our luck?? AJ and I did a happy dance right there in the store. Pig sprinkles for the year of the pig. We felt like the stars of the show.
And we were! Until of course, the adorable kids in AJ's class took the stage to sing their song. Good God 4 and 5 year olds are cute.
AJ was so pleased with the song/herself, that she performed it again (complete with actions) at the party we attended at Kohji, Tamara and Kiyomi's house - party #3.
Check out the babes at the party
Friends Mark, Valerie and baby Coralie
