Winter - fun again
Being healthy and getting outdoors
Oh my word it is nice to be healthy! There are so many, many fun things you can do when you can get out and about.
This last week we were blessed with both good health and good weather. Still kind of cold, but moderate enough that we could venture outside.
Skiing
Finally I had my first chance to get out on the slopes with AJ. Man, she just blows me away. At five, she gets off the lift herself, she can boot down the hill and she is enthusiastic no matter what the temperature. Both Steve and I are novice skiers, so by the end of the year I imagine that we won’t be able to keep up with her.
Playing in the snow
Most days it is just fun to get out in our front yard. Our house is on a bit of a hill - only a bit of a hill, but for little kids it is enough to be exciting. So, every day after we get AJ off the bus, the girls and I go sledding down the front lawn. While I’m eager to move from this house, I think this is one of the things I’m going to miss the most. Once we’re downtown there is a 100% chance that there will not be a toboggan hill in our front yard. : ( 
Skating on the canal
What would winter be without a skate on the canal? This is the first year that AJ could really enjoy it…..and honestly….last year I don’t think we made it out even once. Once again, she blew me away. The first day we went out was FREEZING (I'm talking -20 with the wind chill), but she was a trooper. We didn't go far, but she gave it her best shot. Charlotte, however, hated most of it and cried. She just doesn't seem to like the Chariot much when it is all closed up.
Charlotte was much happier once a) we had lunch and b) it was warmer and we got out to check out the ice sculptures.
AJ was so thrilled with the whole experience that she wanted to go out again the next day - just the two of us. Lucky for us, it was much warmer, although the windchill was still nasty. We were out for over 2 hours, and by the end it was me that was begging to go in because my toes were frozen!

Great pictures! Glad to hear everyone is well. Those ice sculptures are amazing.
