Ying-er 2006

We adopted our daughter Charlotte Xiao from China in 2006. ("ying-er" means baby in mandarin). This blog tells our story about building a family of 4, and the on-going joys/trials in our lives.

And so this is Christmas

'Tis the season - and like everyone else we are getting geared up.
We have the tree.
We've baked LOTS of cookies.
We're being nice, not naughty (i.e. the angst I spoke of in the "G is for Grumpy" post seems to have gone away- at least while mom and dad are looking, anyway.)
WE'RE being nice, but apparently some kids didn't get the message. Like the kid at Char's daycare who whacked her in the face with a shovel and gave her a shiner (see chocolate photos). He's getting a lump of coal.
We're eating too much chocolate...one of the most important Christmas rituals of all.

And finally - we've elfed ourselves. Check it out, it is way too funny for words.
Stay tuned.....the big photos of Christmas morning are only a few days away!
